Privacy & Cookies Policy

(1) Policy Statement

Adopstar Ltd, a company established in England with a registered address at The Nook, Saunders Way, Cullompton, EX15 1BS (company number 07361099), is committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. With effect from 25 May 2018 the Adopstar GDPR policy will come into effect.
The requirements to which Adopstar’s staff who process personal data must adhere to GDPR Privacy notice standards.

(2) Status of the Policy

This Privacy Policy was originally approved by Adopstar in January 2018. The content is reviewed annually by the Directors (Adopstar’s Data Protection Compliance Officers).
A breach of this policy on an organisational basis may result in individual disciplinary action under the relevant Adopstar disciplinary procedures.

(3) Scope

This privacy policy sets out how Adopstar uses and protects any information that you give Adopstar when you engaging with us. Adopstar is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with our privacy statements.
Adopstar may change this policy from time to time. You should check this policy regularly to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 25th May 2018.

(4) What information do we collect?

We may collect the following information:
(a) information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website including your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views, website navigation.
(b) information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our website services, email notifications and/or newsletters, your name and telephone number.

We do not collect data from children.

Our legitimate interest is to run an effective and successful business. To provide you with marketing via post, telephone, email, social media and other social media channels such as Facebook/LinkedIn. Make suggestions and recommendations to you about services that could be of interest to you. The legitimate interests we rely on for this processing are to keep our records up to date; to improve customer experience; to develop our products and services; to develop and grow our business; to run our business.
Your consent can be withdrawn at any time.

(10) What do we disclose to third parties?

We use IT service providers within and outside of the EU to store data and customer management information, provide disaster recovery services and other related IT services that we need to conduct our business. We have laid out contractual obligations with those third parties to protect the security of your data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy & Cookies Policy and where your data is outside of the EU, we make sure that there are adequate protections in place.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect either online or face to face.
We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure (password and firewall protected) servers.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. There is no fee payable for us providing you with your data that we hold however if your data request is labour intensive we have the right to charge an agreed administration fee.
